Autonomy of Practice

Autonomy of Practice: care, creativity and the invitation to make a mark.
Autonomy of Practice is an embodied and creative development of the ideas explored in Tracing Autonomy.
Autonomy of Practice explores the nuances of the invitation we make to others to engage creatively. The quality and nature of the invitation itself ensures that this is done with care, and in a way that supports the autonomy of the people we collaborate with and our own as individuals. The act of participation alone is not intrinsically good. It’s important we ask: on whose terms has this invitation been formed.
Below you will find journal posts which reflect on the value of autonomy and how it relates to participatory arts practices and the activities undertaken while developing this work.
